The colors of the desert I encounter inspire my own personal reflection. Often the meaning of a painting comes to me after it’s painted and it was so in this case. The turquoise blue made me think of precious stones and the deeper blue of scarce water. I believe when my journey takes me through dry riverbeds, hidden veins of turquoise and aquafirs are underfoot. What seems like a barren desert holds promise and reward.
